About

Together, we’ve been collaborators for nearly 20 years. What began in art school has grown into a shared practice, and a life, built on our own creative terms. Of everything we’ve photographed, nothing has held our attention like weddings.

To us, each wedding is approached as its own visual world, shaped by the people, the atmosphere, and the small shifts in feeling and light that give a moment its weight. We move through the day with instinct and technical fluency, fully present and deeply connected to the people at its center.

What comes back to you are images that carry the depth and warmth of a real memory, not a recreation of one.

Being invited into these moments has shaped our world in ways that are hard to quantify—it’s deepened it, expanded it, and brought people into our lives we wouldn’t have known otherwise. Experiencing them together and forming those connections is at the core of what makes this work so meaningful to us.

We split our time between Philadelphia and the Catskill Mountains, travel often, and share our home with our beloved American Bobtail, Beans.

Marisa

Marisa’s natural eye for storytelling is shaped by her background in fine art photography and years as a producer and creative director. Her approach places emphasis on connection and trust, making each couple feel truly seen. When not behind the camera, she draws inspiration from the world around her—studying interiors, mapping out her dream garden, or hiking around the Hudson Valley.

Calm and intuitive, her presence creates an environment where couples feel completely at ease. Her balance of compassionate direction, both subtle and thoughtful, ensures that every detail—big and small—comes to life beautifully.

John

John’s approach to photography, as with all things, is shaped by his boundless curiosity and creative energy. Whether diving into a new interest or connecting with people from all walks of life, he has a magnetic ability to make those around him feel seen and at ease. His natural enthusiasm draws people into his orbit, creating an environment where moments unfold effortlessly and naturally.

With a background in fine art and music, John brings a dynamic perspective to his work, blending a technical, studied approach with a storyteller’s intuition. Deftly balancing commitment and adaptation, he moves with the rhythm of the wedding day—offering direction and joyful encouragement when needed while leaving plenty of room for the unplanned and unscripted. His craft is as much about understanding people as it is about photography—a connection that opens the door to honest, enduring images.

“We would work with Redfield over and over and over again, across a thousand lifetimes. Marisa and John are amazing to work with, and we can't overstate how special it is to be able to work alongside a married couple who communicate with each other so well, divide and conquer so efficiently, and create such a natural rapport with the couples they are photographing.”
